Enjoyed an intellectually stimulating seminar by PsoA Pakistan Society of Actuaries on Data Science led by Mr. Asif J. from ARGenesis Management Consultancy. Jules Gribble Also highlighted the importance of applying the Actuarial Control Cycle to add value to our work. The significant parts of Data science in an insurance setting were 1) building an integrated pipeline/River of Data that integrates the data engineering pipelines with the Data Science modeling to lead to actionable insights via visualizations. 2) How Machine Learning was applied in insurance reserving to lead to a more accurate Actual Vs Expected and 3) building on current AI APIs already like Cortana and SIRI to ask technical queries.
